Dead house, Sunday night, back on before midnight
A tenant rang with the whole flat dead and a hot smell from the hallway cupboard. The old rewireable board had failed and one circuit had overheated. We isolated it, got the lights back on that night, and fitted a new RCBO board on the Tuesday.

How fast can you actually get here?
For a genuine emergency in Stockport we are usually with you inside the hour, and the average across last year was 34 minutes. If we are already on a job we will tell you that on the phone rather than string you along.
What does a call-out cost?
Nothing in working hours. Evenings and weekends it is £95, which covers the first half hour on site, then £45 per half hour after that. You will know the figure before we set off.
Are you qualified and insured?
Aldenwick Electrical is an NICEIC Approved Contractor, Part P registered, and carries £5m public liability insurance. Every job is tested, certified and notified to Building Control where the regulations require it.
Will you charge me just to come and look?
No. Quotes are free and fixed. If you do not want to go ahead, there is nothing to pay and no hard sell.
Can I get a certificate for a sale or a tenancy?
Yes. EICRs start at £165 for a three-bed house and the report is normally emailed the same day, with a clear list of anything that needs doing and what it would cost.
Do you make a mess?
We use dust sheets, cut chases properly and hoover up before we go. On rewires we work room by room so you always have a liveable house at the end of the day.
